acquires construction/industrial division of Summit Business
Media Barrington,
Illinois – Milo Media, a trade publishing company based in
Barrington, Ill., is pleased to announce its acquisition of the
Construction/Industrial Division of Cleveland-based Summit
Business Media. The acquisition includes Summit Business Media’s
business-to-business trade magazines that serve the industrial
maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) and commercial
construction markets. The group’s titles include Contractor
Tools and Supplies, Construction Purchasing, MRO Today,
Progressive Distributor magazines and their Web sites and other
marketing services. Headquartered in Fort
Atkinson, Wis., the publications were previously part of
Pfingsten Publishing, which was acquired by Summit Business
Media in November 2006. “We originally
approached Pfingsten about acquiring its Construction/Industrial
Division more than a year ago,” said Milo Media president Mike
Domke. “Pfingsten elected to sell its entire company as a group
rather than sell individual titles. Once the Pfingsten
Publishing acquisition was complete, we approached Summit about
acquiring the Division. We are pleased to have the opportunity
to finally welcome the Construction/Industrial Division
publications and staff to our publishing team.”
In addition to the four B2B magazines that serve end-user
customers and distributors of a wide range of products and
services used on construction job sites and in industrial
facilities throughout North America, the Fort Atkinson
publishing group also operates the Web sites
ContractorToolsandSupplies.com, MROToday.com,
ProgressiveDistributor.com and Construction-Purchasing.com,
distributes targeted e-mail newsletters, and has a long history
of producing single-sponsored publications for leading U.S.
manufacturers in a variety of industries.
“The acquisition of this group and these businesses will
significantly increase our penetration into the construction and
industrial markets and add to the platform we have already
developed with Milo Media. We now have publications that serve a
combined audience in these associated markets of nearly
400,000,” Domke said. Milo Media is a
specialty niche publisher covering the construction and utility
markets. It publishes Utility & Telecom Fleets, Telecom
Infrastructure, Lift Applications & Equipment, CraneWorks and
Fuel Cell magazines and produces the Aerial Platform Safety
Conference, Crane & Hoist Conference and Fuel Cell Conference.
“Our focus at Milo Media has always been to deliver the best and
most critical information to readers in each of the industries
we serve,” said Domke. “By adding the Fort Atkinson-based
publications to our existing portfolio, we believe we can
generate additional value to our advertisers and our readers.
We’re excited about the opportunities ahead as we merge the new
employees and publications into our growing company.” |
